Jen Brock named Vice President for Marketing and Communications

Mount Holyoke President Danielle R. Holley announces that Jen Brock will assume the role of Vice President for Marketing and Communications on July 1, 2025.

Dear members of the Mount Holyoke community,

I am thrilled to announce the appointment of Jen Brock as our new vice president for marketing and communications. Jen has served as interim vice president since I reestablished the Division of Communications in January of this year, following the incredibly successful transformation of the department under Vice President for College Relations Kassandra Jolley, with Jen in her role as associate vice president for marketing and communications. Jen will assume the permanent position on July 1.

Our national search resulted in several strong candidates but as the search progressed, it became clear to everyone involved that the best person for the role was already part of our community. There is collective enthusiasm and support for Jen as the outstanding choice for this critically important leadership position at the College. With her extensive marketing and communications experience and strategic leadership skills, she has already contributed a great deal to the College and will continue to strengthen and advance our goals and reputation.

Jen came to MHC in 2022 from Marietta City Schools (a charter International Baccalaureate public school district in a suburb of Atlanta, Ga.) where she led all communications, marketing and public relations efforts as chief communications officer. In her many years leading marketing and communications initiatives, she has been dedicated to the education and nonprofit sectors, with roles at agencies, graduate-level programs and both private and public K鈥12 institutions. Jen is known as a decisive and strategic collaborator who leads with a mission-driven and collegial approach. She welcomes 鈥渨hat if鈥 questions and believes that the strength of marketing and communications is found at the intersection of stories and stakeholders.

Since joining the College, Jen has successfully restructured and rebuilt the Office of Marketing and Communications, which has resulted in multiple accomplishments at an institutional level, including a new brand for athletics, a messaging matrix, the rollout of MHC Forward and coverage by prominent national media outlets. Additionally, under Jen鈥檚 leadership as interim vice president, the team has completed several key projects such as the production of a new digital viewbook for the Office of Admission, marketing and communications efforts for a strong yield season, elevated marketing for Experience MHC, a new brand for Reunion and consistent growth of engagement on social media. In recognition of these collective achievements, the Office of Marketing and Communications was honored with the College鈥檚 Trailblazer Award at the end of the academic year, an award given to a staff member or team whose contributions enhance our community and exemplify the core institutional values of integrity, creativity, service and excellence.

I want to thank the faculty and staff who shared their time and feedback during the search. Special thanks go to Bett Schumacher and Kijua Sanders-McMurtry for their leadership on the search committee. Please join me in congratulating Jen on this VP appointment.

Sincerely,
Danielle R. Holley
President
