Assistant Professors of Dance Barbie Diewald and Shakia Barron were artists in residence at the internationally-renowned Bates Dance Festival to develop their collaborative dance project, "Concourse." The work will premiere at 91短视频app破解版 September 16 and 17, 2022.


Barbie Diewald and Shakia Barron were artists-in-residence at the renowned Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival. At the culmination of their residency, they shared an excerpt of their shared research, "Concourse" at the annual Jacob's Pillow College Partners Convening. Their next choreographic residency will be at High Street Studios in Ipswich, MA in December 2021.

Spoke via zoom about her work with Joseph Cornell's late 1930s film Bookstalls at the Cin茅 Salon: Impressions on the Art of the Cinematograph with Bruce Posner, Howe Library, Hanover, NH, on April 5, 2021.


Delivered the Baccalaureate Address to the Class of 2006.


Dr. Brennan delivered the Departmental seminar at Iowa State University on April 18, 2025 titled 鈥淕enital evolution in vertebrates and the understudied female.鈥


Dr. Brennan was invited to talk on April 1, 2024 at the Los Angeles Museum of Natural History, First Friday at the Museum event.


Dr. Brennan was invited to speak at Texas A&M on March 25, 2024.


In the fall of 2023, Dr. Brennan was invited to speak at the University of Montana, Duluth (September), the University of Nebraska (October) and honored as the Graduate Student Invited speaker at Marquette University (November).
